| O2 Sporting Series Rainwear from Rain Shield, Inc., was judged, Best of Show, for the top new product in the Apparel category of the ICAST 2000 & BASS Masters Classic Outdoor Show. The O2 Sporting Series is a waterproof and breathable two-piece rain suit made from an innovative new fabric from 3M, called ProporeTM. It consists of a storm jacket and bib overalls that come in their own, handy stuff sack. It is lightweight, storable, and at a price point that has not been seen before in a waterproof, breathable fabric.
Propore FabricTM consists of 3M Microporous Film, a soft, quiet, polypropylene film, laminated to a polypropylene nonwoven. The result is a fabric ideally suited to applications where resistance to liquid transmission is a requirement and where comfort, "breathablility" and quietness are highly beneficial. For the first time ever, the American Sportfishing Association's ICAST teamed up with the BASS Master Classic & Classic Outdoor Show to produce a joint trade and consumer show for the entire sportfishing industry. The New Products Store at this show provided the first glimpse of all the new technology and products that will hit the shelves in 2001.
3M™ Microporous Fabric is breathable and resistant to liquid transmission as well as being a barrier to very small particles. This patented polypropylene film is soft, quiet and hypoallergenic.
3M™ Propore™ Fabric is a laminate of 3M™ Microporous Film to a polypropylene nonwoven. This construction adds strength and durability. When used in garment applications, it allows for perspiration to evaporate. |
